What’s been happening:

I am the proud aunt of twin nephews and a niece. Most of my time outside of work is dedicated to volunteering with Girl Scouts in various administrative roles as well as a trainer of adult volunteers. Following the 2008 tornadoes that went through a boy scout camp in Iowa, I became an approved CPR/First Aid instructor and have initiated an effort in my local area to prepare girls of all ages with at least some basic First Aid skills so they would be similarly able to help themselves and others in an emergency. My other pet project is organizing an outdoor skills competition for teen girls in my Girl Scout council, which will be held for the first time over Memorial Day Weekend 2009.
